This is the beginning of a blanket which my Mum began shortly before she died. She was making it for herself ready for the winter. I have decided that I am going to finish it and have it in my bedroom once it is complete. Not having a clue how to crochet is just a minor detail surely?
I asked my aunt to teach me to crochet to help, so with a hour lesson and observation I have so far managed to produce;
I'm quite impressed with myself and love that crocheting grows so fast. IT started to curl up so my aunt show me how I can correct this. Hopefully I will be able to keep it lat now. Once I am confident that I have the hang of it I will attempt touching the blanket.
Wish me luck.
*Please excuse the photographs it is very difficult to take decent photographs when it is dark when you leave for work, and dark when you get home.
What a lovely thing to do!
ReplyDeleteI recently met a gentleman at our local knit and natter group who has done something similar after discovering many craft things in his mothers home.
It looks like you're a quick learner, too :o)
My mum had so many craft things on the go, cross stitch, knitting, dress making, crochet all sorts. My sister and I have shared many of it between us to finish. You may see more bits here over next few months as I get round to them. One of the most frustrating is a cross stitch from the snowman film; I can't find the pattern :-(
