Pick your own

On the way home from work last week I saw signs saying that there was a oick your own pumpkin farm open this weekend (the one just gone). So on Sunday my sister and I headed off with our two youngest to have a nosey.

We came home with 4 lovely pumpkins; 2 orange ones for carving, a grey one and a light coloured one. I forget what the proper names are for them all. It cost £10 for all 4 of them. I'm very impressed they are HUGE.
WE had a lot of fun picking them and the farm staff couldn't have been more pleasant. One of them even lent my sister wellies for going up the field as the weather meant it was rather boggy. Everything had been thought of; there were wheelbarrows along with a helpful staff member who pushed it for us all the way to the car, a friendly lady who told us which pumpkins were available and suitable for what, the man who washed the pumpkins off and even allowed Stephanie to use his hose to wash hers by herself (making her day!). There was even a hose in the car park for us to wash our wellies before going home. It was FANTASTIC!
The lady told us it is a yearly event for their farm, we will definitely be going back next year.
I like to try and by locally where possible and if we can have fun and get mucky along the way then even better.
We came home had a hot shower each pulled on our pj's and enjoyed one of this each:

BLISS!
