Walkies

The dog goes home today so Stephanie and I decided that we would take her for one last walk. We went out to a local recreation field which leads to a woods, through to the beach and back home. It is a walk I have not completed since I was younger. I wasn't entirely sure if it was still possible to follow the river all the way along, we found out that it is. Along the way we met my cousin who lives up the road he decided that he was going to come too. He seemed to have as much fun playing with Stephanie along the way as she did.

A lovely circular walk rougly 3.5 miles altogether from my house. There were more sights along the way but we were so busy chatting/ playing as we walked that I forgot to take photographs. Maybe next time! Much of the walk was along the saxon shore way. I think I may explore more of this over the summer. It is 160 miles long and much of it goes around the peninsular which I live on so exploring it would be easy enough.

Promise of what's to come...

Last night Stephanie joined me to walk the dog. I took her on a route she hasn't seen before, she absolutely loved watching all the little bunnies skipping about as we walked. Very soon she spotted some blackberries- they are almost ripe. Must be due to this gorgeous weather we have been enjoying recently. Stephanie couldn't resist picking a couple- she says she likes the sourness! LOL

This prompted her to remember a local area where hundreds of blackberries grow and she announced she can not wait for the summer holidays so that we can go. 

I have also spotted a damson tree so we will be heading there later in the year as well.

Lazy days

Today we weren't entirely sure what we were going to do. We had a  parcel coming which was our new trampoline net which we have been waiting for, for a very long time (lots of debates and difficulties with the company GRR!!). Parcel arrived then we decided to sit and do our own things for a little; computer games, knitting and reading were on the list.

We had lunch and the I said no more vegging lets do something. Stephanie wanted to go and try again at geocaching. Dylan wanted to walk to the post office place to collect a computer thing we missed yesterday there and back is a 5 mile walk in total. Dylan wanted to go by himself so Stephanie and I headed in the opposite direction. We didn't manage to find any of the geocaches, I think I need to look at getting a compass or something and not just look at the clues and try and guess where they are. Will head over to the geocache website later and see what they recommend. Although we didn't find any geocaches we did enjoy our walk. It was around 4 miles long. Here's some pics;

Stephanie loves this part of the walk, it is a public right of way across a field. She says that it looks like the corn is dancing as she walks through the field (the wind blows a lot here).

Very excited, she had found a hatched egg. We are trying to work out what this white egg night belong to this evening.

 

We are now all home after our walks we have had dinner, shared some of my chocolates and the children are now playing on the wii. We have had a chilled and free day. Bliss!

Winter walks

Today we went for a very lovely walk along the White Cliffs. The children love it here, lots of slippery paths to fall on, friendly dog walkers, a lighthouse if you walk enough miles, a ferry port to observe and The Fear Factor. They love to run along the edge of the cliffs with me trying not to nag them constantly to slow down/ be careful, come away from the edge etc etc

It was a lovely walk we made it to the lighthouse and back today.
