Relax

I have kept myself busy over the last couple of weeks making sure I'm using the unexpected time at home to do things. I've started to feel a little overwhelmed by everything going on which comes out in frustration at things that wouldn't usually bother me. So today I decided to have a relaxing day. I got up and made some bread as we are out of it, prepped dinner for tonight, a quick tidy through downstairs then I've done things I wanted. A little weeding in the veg patch and sowed down seeds. Since lunchtime I have been laid in my favourite garden chair with a book. Just what I needed to recharge the batteries.

We have some little mining bees on our garden. Very sweet to watch them about their business.

A story of an incredible adventure, book review.

At the library the other week I picked up this book on a whim. It caught my eye as I walked past a bookcase. I am so glad that I picked it up now, I loved it!
I have been reading this book over the last couple of weeks. I have loved it!
It tells the story of Mike who packs up his bike and travels right around the coast of England. He is witty in his retelling and honest. I had difficulty in putting this book down. It has made me want to do something similar. Oh for less money worries/ commitments :-D

What a great adventure he has. I would recommend this book if you happen upon a copy somewhere the tales of the people he encounters on his journey really did make me laugh out loud. His descriptions of the landscapes makes you want to go and see them for yourself. Some of the places we have been lucky enough to visit, meaning I could understand what he meant in certain places.

Little visitors

Today I started out with an early run, it's too hot to go in the middle of the day also I like to run first thing I find I'm ready for the day after a run.

Home for breakfast etc and then crack on with the housework. I have almost finished sorting out my clothes and getting rid of any that don't fit/ I don't wear any longer. Just a few more bits in the wardrobe, Then they will go off to the cash for clothes place and I will crack on with redecorating my bedroom. I have bought the paint a little each payday for the last couple of months so once I am organised I can just crack on.

After today's tidying jobs were complete I went to sit in the garden with my runners world magazine. I was laying on the sunlounger my neighbour gave me- I love it and am so grateful they thought of offering it to me. I had a little visitor;

I've seen this little cat in the garden a lot since we moved here but it is usually too shy for us to get close. In this picture it was watching Dylan make his lunch. He rolled around the ground at my feet and then came over and let me pet him  (or her!) briefly. It came back a little while later and sat by the car if I step towards it he runs away but if I lay in the lounger he'll come for a fuss. I must have dozed off as all of a sudden it was 3 o clock! I carried on reading my magazine and look who was on the chair next to me;

A little grasshopper calling away and there were others I could hear up in the grass as well.

I spent a lovely afternoon in the garden again today I finished my magazine. Then decided to listen to some of the old archers episodes on radio 4. I found them very interesting to listen to, it's like someone reading you a story. So I continued being lazy laying in the garden  busied myself crocheting like mad working on the new blanket for my bedroom once I decorate! LOL
I only came in at 9:30 because I could no longer see as it was getting so dark. It's still very warm although the wind is picking up a little but with sleeves on it's fine.

relaxation

I have spent the an hour or so this evening making hexagons for the quilt. The is something relaxing/ therapeutic about sitting and doing something so simple and easy whilst watching TV. I also like to watch the pile of square fabric shrink as the hexagon pile grows.

At the end of a full day in university it is nice to spend some time to sit. I am also able to consider the research I need to complete in the next month.
